Returns & Exchanges
We really want you to love your L'hippopotame gear and feel great wearing it. If something isn’t quite right, we’re here to make it easy. Here’s how our returns and exchanges work:
What’s eligible for a refund or free return/exchange
- Domestic orders within Canada only
- Full-price items or anything discounted 15% or less
Items discounted 16% or more can be returned for store credit (no refund to your original payment method). We apply a 15% handling fee to help cover inspection, repackaging, and getting it ready for the next athlete.
How we need items returned Please send them back unworn, unwashed, with tags still attached, and in the same condition as when they arrived (a quick try-on at home is totally fine!).
We can’t accept items that show:
- deodorant marks
- makeup or self-tanner stains
- anti-chafe product residue
- pet or human hair
- any noticeable smells (sweat, perfume, chlorine, etc.)
Keeping things clean helps us pass on premium gear to everyone in the community—thank you for helping with that!
If your item arrives damaged, wrong, or not as expected Just reach out right away before wearing it or removing tags. Send us a few photos and your order number to info@lhippopotame.com—we’ll take care of it quickly and get you sorted.
Washed or worn items If something’s been washed or shows more than light try-on use, we won’t be able to process a refund, exchange, or credit. We will ship it back to you and the shipping fee will be at the cost of the customer.
Exchanges You get one exchange per order. If we’re out of your preferred size or color, feel free to choose something else or take store credit. Once the exchange is delivered, that order is complete.
(Note: Store credit can’t be used toward custom L'hippopotame orders.)
International orders (including the US) We offer store credit only, and return shipping would be at your expense.
A few extra notes
- Original shipping fees aren’t refunded unless it’s our error (damaged or incorrect item).
- We occasionally limit return privileges on accounts with very frequent returns—it helps keep things fair and prices good for everyone.
Processing times Once your return arrives and passes our quick check (usually 3–5 business days), we process refunds, credits, or exchanges right away.
