Our Warranty
12-Month Limited Warranty
L'Hippopotame Athlétique stands behind the quality of our trisuits. We offer a 12-month limited warranty on all trisuits against defects in materials and workmanship, effective from the original date of purchase.
This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is non-transferable.
What Is Covered
This limited warranty covers manufacturing defects that occur under normal use and proper care, including:
- Defective zippers, hardware, or closures that fail under normal operation.
- Premature delamination, major fabric failure, or material breakdown not attributable to external factors.
If a covered defect is confirmed, we will, at our sole discretion, replace the trisuit with a comparable product or issue a store credit (partial or full, based on the circumstances). We do not offer repairs under this warranty.
What Is Not Covered
This warranty does not cover:
- Normal wear and tear, including but not limited to fabric fading, pilling, thinning, chamois compression, minor discoloration, seam wear, loose threads, or separation from repeated use, training, racing, washing, overstretching, snagging, or exposure to sweat, chlorine, saltwater, or UV light.
- Damage resulting from misuse, abuse, accidents, negligence, or improper care (e.g., machine drying when not permitted, use of harsh chemicals, improper sizing, tears from snags/crashes, or failure to follow the care label instructions).
- Cosmetic issues that do not affect functionality.
- Damage from improper storage, alterations, or repairs by third parties.
- Products purchased from unauthorized sellers, second-hand sources, or clearance/outlet sales (unless explicitly stated).
- Claims made without proof of purchase or outside the 12-month period.
We reserve the right to determine, in our reasonable judgment, whether an issue qualifies as a manufacturing defect or falls under normal wear and tear/exclusions.
How to Make a Warranty Claim
To initiate a warranty claim:
- Email us at info@lhippopotame.com within the 12-month warranty period.
- Include the following in your email:
- Proof of purchase (receipt, order confirmation, or invoice showing date and product details).
- A clear description of the issue.
- High-quality photos clearly showing the alleged defect (multiple angles if helpful).
- Your full name, contact information, and order number (if available).
- We will review your submission and respond within 10–14 business days to confirm receipt and next steps.
- If approved, we may request you ship the trisuit to us (at our expense in some cases; we'll advise). Do not send the item without our prior approval.
We appreciate your trust in our products and are committed to resolving valid claims promptly and fairly. Proper care (as outlined in our care instructions) helps maximize the lifespan of your trisuit beyond the warranty period.
